Preliminary feasibility study
For the correct sizing of a photovoltaic system, it is necessary to carry out the site suitability assessments through a preliminary feasibility study, whose initial phase is a site visit by qualified designers and technicians. Data and information about the environmental, technical and logistical aspects of the site will be collected during the visit.
From the information collected by the engineers during the inspection phase, all necessary data will be picked to draw a commercial “turnkey” offer taking care of the real needs of the customer, whether linked to power requirements, to useful areas or economic availability. In each quotation you will find the activities that will be carried out, material brand and model and any exclusions.
Following the surveys carried out during the site visit, our engineers and technicians are able to determine the architecture of the photovoltaic system: the plant configuration, the component choice, the optimal arrangement of the photovoltaic generators are established. The design and safety electrical parameters are defined, including the protection against atmospheric discharges. Support and counseling structures are also defined which, especially in static systems, must meet precise resistance requirements to the main stresses due to snow load, wind action and obviously to the permanent load derived from the modules and the structure itself.
The photovoltaic system is implemented by specialised personnel according to ‘workmanlikworkmanlike’ performance: such as the electrical systems whose implementation is carried out in compliance with the UNI regulations (Italian Unification Authority) and with the Italian Electrotechnical Committee (CEI) and with the other regulations, laws and decrees in force and applicable to the electrical sector. In particular, DM 37/08 is applied to all plants inside buildings and amenities, from the point of energy delivery and it obliges the project execution and the drawing, by the installer, of the declaration of installation conformity.The photovoltaic modules and the components of the BOS (Balance of System, that is all the components of the photovoltaic system excluding the modules) are installed in compliance with the regulations in force and in compliance with the manufacturer prescriptions of the different components.
Test, checking and final test are certainly one of the most important activities in the implementation of the photovoltaic system. The final test, which can only be carried out by specialised and authorised engineers, is a technical-administrative procedure issued at the end of the photovoltaic system installation to verify its proper functioning.
The rigorous test construction allows to identify, before the plant start-up and its delivery to the customer, any structural, operating and performance anomalies.
The final test includes technical tests to be carried out at the end of the implementation and ends with the issue of a declaration certifying the test results.
The main steps of a final test concern visual examinations and technical-functional tests.
The photovoltaic systems, to be able to be operative and access the Energy Account incentives in force and/or to take advantage of the tax benefits, shall be implemented in accordance with the technical regulations issued by the competent authorities. The contractee (or responsible person) shall also carry out some formal and documentary activities necessary to obtain the permits for the plant construction, for the connection request of to the electricity network and, where applicable, for the incentive rate request.

Given that the photovoltaic systems are characterised by high reliability, at the client’s request, it is possible to draw contracts for the preventive ordinary maintenance of the photovoltaic system, or adopting customised solutions. Regardless of a contract drawing, though, periodic maintenance is highly recommended and must be performed in any case by experienced and licensed personnel and in compliance with the user’s and plant maintenance manual.
